Frostburg Green Team
A City council-appointed community board, the Green Team guides Frostburg’s long-term efforts to be vibrant, environmentally sustainable community of choice. Going green saves our small town both valuable natural and financial resources while creating unique opportunities for community engagement and inclusivity.
To do that, we:
- Encourage sustainable best practices
- Promote events and partnerships that encourage green behaviors
- Engage our community residents and groups
- Share information about local and regional natural resources
We’re committed to working with our community—residents, businesses, social organizations, churches, and educational institutions—to make Frostburg a conservation-minded destination of choice.

What is a Sustainable Maryland community?
Sustainable Maryland is a certification program for municipalities in Maryland that want to go green, save money and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term. Sustainable Maryland is a collaborative effort between the Environmental Finance Center (EFC) at the University of Maryland and the Maryland Municipal League.
