I’ll be working on my father’s house on 73 Hill Street. He has a lot of things that need to be thrown out. Are there any restrictions on dumpster sizes?

Thank you for reaching out. If the dumpster is placed entirely on private property, such as a yard or driveway, there are no restrictions on its size, and no further action is required from the City.

However, if the dumpster needs to be placed on the street, a temporary dumpster permit is required. While there is no cost for this permit, approval from both our Street Department Supervisor and the Police Chief is necessary to ensure the placement does not interfere with traffic flow.
