Hello.

They have been working on sidewalks down at the end of Washington Street but they do not seem to be doing anything to the sidewalk that sits above the school's tennis courts even though they are being damaged and are very worn. Are there any plans for that one to be fixed? How about the rest of Washington Street? During the school year, it is very dangerous because there are huge amounts of traffic and always kids walking in the street from school.

Good morning,

Yes, that stretch of sidewalk will be done, but other work has to occur first before that sidewalk can be addressed. The City is currently working on Phase X-A of a combined sewer separation project with Phases X-B and X-C happening next year. Safety is a top priority. We are mandated by the state to separate the combined system. This project will bring new water, sewer, and storm lines to the Washington and McCulloh Street area, along with newly paved streets and sidewalks. These major improvements will be utilized for years to come and we appreciate you bearing with us as the work is completed.

Thanks,

Emily Weber, Public Works Assistant
