Thank you for your message.  Yes, we are acutely aware of the inconvenience a water line break causes to our customers, because, like you, we are also affected by water breaks that disrupt our water service from time to time.  The City is diligently working to replace aging infrastructure in a systematic manner to be proactive so that unexpected infrastructure failures are reduced.  However, from time to time 40 year old waterlines buried in the soil leak or break and need to be repaired.  The City's Water and Street departments worked until 8 pm on Friday to make the repair so that your water service was restored, as the water line was deep and the repair was difficult.  I hope you appreciate their efforts to ensure that you have clean potable water and sanitary sewer service, and that they are on call 24/7 to respond to when breaks or other issues occur.  Your patience while a infrequent disruption in service would be appreciated.
