Governor Hogan Visit - 02/22/2022

Governor Hogan and First Lady

***Governor Hogan Visit to Police Station 02/22/2022***

On February 22, 2022, we were honored to show Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan our new police station as part of the Governor’s tour of the City of Frostburg Municipal Center. We gave him and the First Lady the full police station tour, including dispatch, the administrative offices and police work areas, and even the jail cells!

There was a very special highlight during his tour: Governor Hogan personally presented Frostburg City Police Lieutenant Irvin A. Buskirk, Jr. with a Governor’s Citation in recognition of his 44 years of total government service—40 years with the City of Frostburg Police Dept., plus 4 years of active duty in the U.S. Army (followed by Army Reserve time overlapping his work for the City). Lt. Buskirk will be retiring at the end of March 2022.

Our officers, Lt. Irvin Buskirk, Sgt. Matthew Beeman, Cpl. Brooke McCarty, and Cpl. Jordan Cook—all in full Class A uniform—and PCO II Mary Gracie enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Governor and First Lady.

Chief Nicholas Costello was especially honored to provide the police station tour and to have the opportunity to sit briefly with Governor Hogan and Commissioner Jake Shade to talk about police issues.

Commissioner Kevin Grove enjoyed the opportunity to speak with him and share some old stores of his 41-year policing career at the FPD.

Thank you, Governor Hogan, First Lady Hogan, and All!
