Notice of Public Hearing: FY26 Budget Ordinance, Leak Protection Program Ordinance, & Frostburg Fire Department Real Estate Tax Credit Ordinance

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Ordinances 2025-01, 2025-02, & 2025-03
The City of Frostburg Mayor and City Council will conduct three Public Hearings during their
regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 5:30 PM. The meeting will be held at 37
S. Broadway, in the Meeting Room of the Frostburg Municipal Center, and will also be
livestreamed on the City’s YouTube channel.
The purpose of the Public Hearings is to receive public comments on the following ordinances,
which were introduced during the Mayor and City Council meeting on April 15, 2025:
- Ordinance 2025-01
Adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Operating Budgets for the City’s Corporate, Water, Sewer, Garbage, and Water Surcharge Funds, including related tax rates, utility rates, and miscellaneous fees. - Ordinance 2025-02
Amendment of Section 6-7 of the City Code to establish a new Leak Protection Program. The program offers enhanced leak relief for eligible customers through a third-party provider and is subject to a small participation fee. - Ordinance 2025-03
Renumbering Sections 3-5 and 3-6 of the City Code and creating a new Section 3-5 to provide a real estate tax credit for eligible volunteer members of Frostburg Fire Department No. 1. This initiative supports volunteer recruitment and retention.
